Background/ASB Summary: ASB is a non-political and non-denominational charity and relief organization. We help all people – regardless of their political, ethnic, national and religious affiliation. We provide rapid and direct help to all those in need of our support. Since its foundation in 1888, ASB – its German name means “Workers’ Samaritan Federation” – has provided services that focus on people’s needs, including care for the elderly, rescue services and First Aid, assistance for children and young people, support for people with disabilities and those suffering from mental problems, as well as Foreign Aid and adult and further education.
Job Overview/Summary: The Project Development & Visibility Officer will dedicate 80% of her/his time on fundraising activities and 20% on visibility related tasks. She/he will report directly to the Country Director and work closely with the programme and finance team.
Reports to: Country Director
o Develop and update on weekly basis a stakeholder database with possible funding sources, key donors, implementing partners, INGOs, LNGOs and other relevant stakeholders;
o Contribute to the development of ASB’s Country strategy and ensure it is in line with the current context and needs;
o Develop and update regularly country specific humanitarian context analysis and ensure the gaps and needs are identified in timely manner;
o Draft project proposals, concept notes and budget development; o Understand and disseminate among staff contractual donor regulations.
o Together with the Country Director, define main target groups, geographic areas of interventions, resources and partnerships;
o Take over all PR activities, such as public presentations and media relations;
o Participate in donor visits and actively take position of ASB strategy in Greece
o Draft and provide ECHO monthly visibility reports;
o Coordinate and develop further ASB’s website in Greece in collaboration with external consultants;
o In charge of ASB’s social media development and updates;
o Draft success stories and disseminate through social media;
o Ensure that all ASB staff use their visibility as per the code of conduct.
· Bachelor or Master degree in development studies;
· 1-3 years relevant professional experience, specifically in proposal development and donor relations;
· Strong English and analytical writing skills (a writing sample will be requested);
· Able to work independently and under strict deadlines;
· Greek language (preferred but not required).
Working schedule: Office hours and on a call basis in case of emergency
· All Site officers are required to adhere to THE ASB Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the ASB country employment policies.
· Adhere to the Code of Conduct every day – in the site and in the community.
· Maintain confidentiality
· All ASB staff must wear appropriate ASB visibility.
