Following METAdrasi’s cooperation with the “Open Schools” of the municipality of Athens, that was launched in June 2017 and continued throughout the school year 2017-2018, involving more than 1.500 children, METAdrasi is implementing, for the second year, the summer educational program Step2School.
This is a non-formal education programme, addressed to minors aged 6 to 18, who live in temporary hosting facilities, in accommodation facilities for unaccompanied minors and in apartments, but it also welcomes the children that live in the neighborhood.
The activity provides lessons of Greek, English and German, as well as mathematics, history, geography, arts and culture. The activity’s primary aim is the preparation for integration in the formal education, by creating a safe framework for refugee and migrant children.
Classes are delivered by the experienced educational staff of METAdrasi daily at 10:00-13:00 & 16:00-19:00, in schools at the center of Athens. Additionally, intensive lessons of Greek, English, German and computer skills are offered to teenagers aged 16 to 18, in METAdrasi’s space.
Registrations take place at METAdrasi’s offices in Tavros (7, 25 Martiou street, 1st floor, “Kallithea” train station), Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 20:00.
