Greek Teacher
for Refugee/Migrant Language Program (morning shift-part time)

Organisational Context
The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation. Its mission is to accompany, to serve, and to advocate for refugees and forcibly displaced people.
JRS programmes are found in more than 50 countries, providing assistance to refugees, individuals displaced, asylum seekers, and migrants. The main areas of work are in the field of education, emergency assistance, healthcare, livelihood activities, and social services.
JRS Greece was set up in November 2015, and its action is focused on vulnerable people. JRS Greece manages five projects in the centre of Athens.
Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Greek teacher to teach Greek language classes to adult refugees and migrants in the morning shift of our non-formal education program, Magistories. The ideal candidate will be experienced and able to teach effectively in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach Greek language skills (reading, writing, speaking) to adult refugees and migrants.

Prepare and deliver lessons tailored to the needs of students.

Support students in improving their language proficiency and cultural integration.

Monitor student progress and provide feedback.
Qualifications:
-
Proven experience in teaching Greek as a second language.

Experience working with refugees and migrants.
-
Degree in Education or a related field. Additional teaching certifications are a plus.

Ability to speak and write fluently in English. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Ability to work independently and manage a classroom.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Terms of Appointment:
This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) in the afternoon, from 10:00 to 14:00.
